I have a 5 week old who LOVES her bouncy seat, but I'm worried about the amount of time she actually sits in the seat with the vibrations on. How much is too much time, I know these baby gear companies wouldn't manufactor items that are harmful, but she just relaxes and calms right down when she's in the seat. Obviously I wouldn't put her in it for hours with the vibrations on, but as soon as I shut it off after 20/30 minutes she wakes right up. Thanks in advance for your advice/answers.
Just for the record I hold and stimulate my daughter everyday. The times she's in the boncy is mostly because I needed a bathroom break, clean bottles, take a shower. No one should make me feel guilty for taking a mommy break, and we don't have central A/C in my house and if I hold her for too long she sweats terrible and that is where the bouncy seat comes in the most handy.
How much is too much time in a vibrating bouncy seat?

If you have to ask, it’s too much time.
You know where else babies like to be that can never be a problem?
In their mother’s arms.

I think as long as she’s happy and mom’s happy, she can be in it. It just may cost you money in batteries. Just make and extra effort when she’s awake to get her out and stimulate her so she can learn. If you just use it as a comfort or for sleep, vibrations don’t hurt anyone! Relaxing!! I wish they made those for adults lol! GOOD luck!

hehe – my 4 month old has loved hers since newborn too!
from our experience, I would say there isn’t too much time
I can’t see that it can be harmful in any way – I have never read any warnings that the vibrations are harmful and the seats themselves are supportive for little ones’ bodies.
Babies change so much anyway, she probably wll be into something else before long – we only tend to use ours now for naps which last half an our as she loves her playmat and bumbo now almost as much.
(I also made the mistake of turning the vibrate off during a nap coz it does my head in (!) and couldn’t get her back to sleep or to stop screaming! What a fab invention, those chairs!)

It doesn’t really matter, and the vibrations probably soothe her so much because she is so young. You just have to think about it this way, in the womb, every step you took and thing you did vibrated the amniotic fluid, the vibrators on the seat are comforting. if she falls asleep in it, just leave it on, unless you can turn it off before she falls asleep and then still get her to go to sleep. They also sell vibrating matresses for the cribs now. You have nothing to worry about by leaving it on.

Don’t worry what others say. I love my daughter to pieces, but I can’t hold her every second of the day. I need to spend time with my son also, shower, bathroom, clean, cook, do laundry, dishes. So as long as it is now hours on end, there is no amount of time that is to much. I let my daughter sleep in her vibrating bouncy seat and her swing. When she wakes up, I feed her, hold her , play with her, and have our time for atleast an hour, then I play on the floor with her until my son needs something or until I need to do something.. so don’t mind these people who are acting very immaturely, of course anyone with a brain knows you are probably spending time with your daughter and holding her and caring for her, so like I said, as long as she is sleeping, your good, or until your finished with something and she is awake.. you make the decision
