Home Pregnancy Tests
Clothes, Burp Rags, Bottles (depending on how long your drive is), Clothes, Blankets, Wipes, etc
• An infant car seat. You can’t drive your baby home without one! In fact, you’ll want to have the seat properly installed ahead of time, and you’ll want to know exactly how to correctly buckle in your baby.
• A going-home outfit (one-piece stretchy outfits are easiest) and a snowsuit if it’s very cold. Include a pair of socks or booties if the outfit doesn’t have feet.
• A receiving blanket (a heavy one if the weather’s cold)
• A cap (although they’ll usually give you one at the hospital)
• Baby nail clippers or emery board.

1) Diapers (Not size one, size “newborn”. My husband and I made that mistake!)
2) Change of clothes (I found the premature baby clothes is the only clothes that fit my son for the first 2 weeks & he was a pretty normal size – 6lbs 11oz)
3) Baby wipes (For extra sensitive skin)
4) Change pad
5) Spit up blankets (You probably only need one, or at most two, but they fold up nicely)
6) Hat & Booties
Also, remember, that packing less is more… you will have a ton of stuff to carry out to your vehicle coming home from the hospital, especially if you are going to have lots of visitors (as they usually bring big vases full of flowers, teddy bears etc).
Also, if you are going to be breastfeeding you will likely have to stop at a pharmacy to get a Vitamin D supplement for your new baby, and most likely, pads for you.
Congratulations!

diaper bag
If you’re bringing your baby from the Hospital straight to home.. you only need a few diapers-usually hospitals give you some but just in case-, wipes, an outfit to bring your baby in-make sure it’s weather appropriate, a snowsuit-if it’s cold, a blanket, a hat and that’s about it-pacifier if you like.
Oh and dont forget your carseat!! You wont be released from the hospital without one!!
Oh and if it’s cold weather like the one we’re having right now, get a carseat blanket cover to keep your baby warm-remember that your car will be cold.
And that’s about it. You dont really need anything else.
Now for the future, when you take your baby out you’ll need to pack : Several diapers, a couple of extra outfits (complete set of clothes x 2), wipes, a folding changing pad, diaper rash cream -small- bibs, a burpcloth or two, and extra pacifiers

I didnt bring a diaper bag, no need for one. The hospital sent me with a pack of diapers anyways but really, it’s just a car ride home. If anything happened I had my breasts with me and that’s all that is needed. I dont get why people pack a diaper bag if going straight home. Oh I did bring a coming home outfit but it was too big so my MIL brought a preemie size one to the hospital.
